In honor of the iconic film “Beat Street” and other Hip-Hop icons, some serious legends will be in the house.

Legends of Hip-Hop will throw a lavish celebration at the Bethesda Theater to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the classic movie Beat Street.

The Hip-Hop Holiday Honors event, presented by the National Hip-Hop Museum (NHHM), will take place at the historic Maryland theater on Saturday, December 28, from 5 to 11:30 p.m.

Jeremy Beaver, the founder of NHHM, stated, “This is the result of five years of rigorous work to maintain and promote Hip-Hop as America’s most essential cultural export.” “There is not a better location for our biggest induction ceremony yet.”

“This cooperation is a celebration of Hip-Hop’s rich past, and we are thrilled to feature the artists and culture that have influenced generations,” said Earl Ciccel, owner of the Bethesda Theater. We anticipate a memorable night of music, appreciation, and camaraderie.

The event will honor some of the most significant characters in hip-hop, including Mr. Wave, Robert “Lee” Taylor, John “RAMO” Chartier, Kool Moe Dee, and The Treacherous Three. They were all highlighted on Beat Street. There will also be other well-known people in attendance, such as Marley Marl, the Fearless Four, Soul Sonic Force, DJ Jazzy Jay, and the Lords of the Underground, who will all be inducted into the NHHM Hall of Fame.

Visitors will get the opportunity to see a showing of Beat Street and witness the iconic Christmas rap scene from the movie performed by Kool Moe Dee.

Custom trophies, Hall of Fame jackets, commemorative medals, and other items will be given to the honorees. A live podcast will be hosted by the event’s master of ceremonies, Master Gee.

A performance by the Soul Sonic Force, the Fearless Four, the Lords of the Underground, Kool Moe Dee, and the Treacherous Three will cap off the celebration.
