The Soundside Music Festival 2025 Called Off Due to ‘Unforeseen Circumstances Beyond Our Control’, according to an announcement made by event organizers on Friday, July 25. The popular two-day event, which was set to take place on September 27–28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has officially been canceled.
Originally slated to feature major headliners such as The Killers, Weezer, Hozier, and Vampire Weekend, the festival’s abrupt cancellation has left many fans disappointed. In an official statement shared on the festival’s website, organizers expressed regret:
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank’s processing time.”
Speaking to Billboard, the organizers added,
“We are deeply grateful to the City of Bridgeport, Mayor Ganim, our local partners, and all the fans for their support of the festival over the years. While we’re disappointed to have canceled this year’s show, we remain proud of the incredible musical moments we shared together in Seaside Park and the opportunity to call Bridgeport home.”
Adding to the mystery surrounding the cancellation, Soundside’s social media profiles had already been removed as of press time, and no additional explanation has been provided.
Aside from the main headliners, the 2025 lineup also included highly anticipated performances from artists like Djo, Japanese Breakfast, The Backseat Lovers, Remi Wolf, Alex Warren, and The Last Dinner Party.
Originally launched in 2022 under the name Sound on Sound, the festival was rebranded as Soundside in 2024. Last year’s event faced its own challenges when the Foo Fighters, originally set to headline, pulled out just two days before the festival. Their exit followed personal revelations shared by frontman Dave Grohl, and they were subsequently replaced by Jack White and Greta Van Fleet.
Now, with the Soundside Music Festival 2025 Called Off Due to ‘Unforeseen Circumstances Beyond Our Control’, the future of the event remains uncertain, leaving fans and the music community waiting for what’s next.
