Kendrick Lamar celebrated rap music as he concluded a historic two-night onslaught at MetLife Stadium in New York.

Kendrick seemed to pause before starting his popular 2012 collaboration with Jay Rock, “Money Trees,” to reflect on the fact that a Hip Hop tour had sold out a stadium in New York for two consecutive nights.

“I asked the audience to believe that this is not pop shit,” Lamar remarked. Tonight is some rap crap.

Due to the fact that Kendrick and SZA play to sold-out stadiums every night, their tour has so far been a huge financial success.

Kendrick gained the distinction of hosting the highest-grossing show in history by a Black male headlining or co-headlining act earlier in the tour.

His Grand National Tour earned an incredible $11.822 million in a single night on April 26 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Weeknd previously held the record with a $9.8 million ticket sales during his 2022 show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

Over the past year, Kendrick has been setting records one after another. Kendrick broke Eminem’s previous record for the highest-grossing rap concert when the Grand National tour kicked off in Minneapolis last month.

Over 47,000 people attended the opening night in Minneapolis, which brought in over $9.1 million at an average price of $192.70, according to Touring Data.

Kendrick can now claim to have the highest-grossing Hip Hop concert of all time, breaking Eminem’s record from his 2019 performance in Melbourne, Australia.

Additionally, it is the first rap concert to surpass the $9 million mark.

As “Luther” has been at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks and counting, Kendrick and SZA have tied a longstanding chart record.

For the most weeks spent at the top of the charts among duets by co-billed lead solo men and women, “Luther” is now tied with Diddy and Faith Evans’ Biggie tribute, “I’ll Be Missing You.”

As the tour keeps fans interested in the albums, K. Dot and SZA’s albums, GNX and SOS, respectively, are still in the top five of the Billboard 200.
