Former coworker John Legend has criticized Kanye West for his antisemitic and anti-Black remarks.

Legend spoke candidly about his former GOOD Music boss in an interview with The Times.

“He had so much optimism, so much creativity,” he remarked. I saw no sign of his current obsessions with antisemitism and anti-Blackness, and it is disheartening to witness his decline.

The vocalist of “Green Light” added that he thought West began to alter with the death of his mother in 2007.

“I don’t think we’re qualified to psychoanalyze him,” he remarked, “but there was definitely a difference after his mother passed away in 2007.” His decline began at that time and appears to have accelerated more lately.

Legend has disclosed that once he rejected West’s presidential ambition, their friendship started to deteriorate.

He stated: “What I was saying was that the true reason our friendship was strained was because he was very angry with me for not endorsing his presidential campaign. I have no idea what the future holds, but he was furious with me for backing Joe Biden instead of him. Whether he can overcome that is up to him.

During his Drink Champs appearance last year, Kanye West shared a similar story, stating: “When I ran for office, the Democrats quickly used Big Sean and John Legend to come at the boy that actually changed their life.” That is some sell-out nonsense. I also don’t get along with either of them.

West’s unpredictable behavior and divisive political beliefs in recent years have caused Legend and other erstwhile close associates to distance themselves from him.

Following West’s assertion that signing the Detroit MC was the worst thing he had ever done at GOOD Music, Big Sean and his former mentor have had a strained relationship in recent years.

“I already decided that when I die, my tombstone will say, ‘I deserve to be here because I signed Big Sean,'” he stated on Drink Champs.

“I know the mother of this man. This man’s family has transformed because of me. And when I campaigned for office, the Democrats quickly utilized Big Sean and John Legend to attack the boy who truly transformed their lives. That’s some sellout shit. Additionally, I need their apologies because I don’t get along with either of them.
