Iman Shumpert wants Teyana Taylor, his ex-wife, to suffer severe repercussions for allegedly breaking their divorce agreement.

The former NBA player accused Taylor of discussing their breakup, which was forbidden for both parties in their contract, in a motion for contempt that he filed on Monday, May 5, according to In Touch.

With reckless disregard for the financial situation, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children, he wrote that Teyana “willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions” on March 12.

Shumpert claims he lost money as a result, and that this hurt his reputation both personally and professionally. He goes on to say, “The precise amount to be more particularly stated and proven at the trial of this matter.”

Additionally, he alleges that Teyana has been disparaging him in front of their children and purposefully blocked and interfered with his ability to pick up their children on April 17.

In addition to pursuing a $1,000 fine and a maximum 20-day jail sentence, he is requesting that the court find her in civil and criminal contempt.

This lawsuit was filed months after Teyana filed a similar one in March, accusing Shumpert of disclosing to the media specifics of their divorce settlement.

It is also suggested that Taylor experienced online harassment due to rumors of their divorce and that Shumpert leaked the documents soon after she posted pictures of herself with actor Aaron Pierre.

She then asked the court to declare him in civil and criminal contempt and to impose the same penalties, which included a $1,000 fine and a maximum 20-day jail sentence.

She later came out, though, and stated that she had no intention of having him imprisoned.

After seven years of marriage, Taylor first filed for divorce in January 2023, long before the pair made their split public that September.

In addition to requesting primary custody of their two children, the former G.O.O.D. Music signee accused Shumpert of “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage” in the divorce filing.
