The BET Ultimate Icon Award will be given to Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg in recognition of their “decades of groundbreaking contributions to music, entertainment, advocacy, and community impact.”
Additionally scheduled to appear on the show are Snoop, Carey, and Franklin. The 2025 BET Awards, dubbed “Culture’s Biggest Night,” will be hosted by Kevin Hart and broadcast live on BET on Monday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Foxx has one Grammy, Carey has five, and Franklin has twenty. Despite 16 Grammy nominations, Snoop Dogg has not yet taken home the trophy. However, Snoop’s performance in The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent earned him a Primetime Emmy in 2022. The show was selected an outstanding variety special (live). Foxx’s leading performance in the 2004 movie Ray earned him an Oscar in 2005. The BET Awards were been presented by Foxx twice, in 2009 and 2018.
Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, GloRilla, Playboi Carti, and Leon Thomas will all perform at the 2025 BET Awards, as was previously stated. It is anticipated that more performers will be revealed.
With ten nominations, Kendrick Lamar is in the lead for the 2025 BET Awards. With six nods each, Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla are tied. SZA and The Weeknd both received four nominations, while Metro Boomin received five.
As previously mentioned, BET will honor the music video countdown show 106 & Park on its 25th anniversary. For a sentimental celebration, former hosts Terrence J, Rocsi Diaz, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Free Marie Wright, and AJ Calloway will all return to the stage. Bow Wow, the former host, as well as Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya, T.I., and others will perform at the homage.
